Vienna CC host Danube Benders from Hungary

The Danube Benders – a mixed group of native cricketers from Hungary – were in Seebarn this weekend, playing against Vienna CC. While it was just about dry enough to be able to play without interruption, it was a somewhat windy window for cricket – the ACA T20 match that preceded the fixture on the Sunday saw fielders fielding in hooded tops to keep warm from the wind. Five Vienna CC Players in Preliminary National Team Squad

Five Vienna Cricket Club players have been invited to take part in the preparation programme for the Austrian National Cricket Team in preparation for the ICC Europe Division 2 competition to be held in Essex at the end of June. They are:

  • Elijah Dippenar
  • Erwin Grasinger
  • Benji Loader
  • Mark Simpson-Parker

Congratulations to all five. Erwin Grasinger will also be putting the squad through their paces in trying to improve their fitness, while Andrew Simpson-Parker has been appointed National Team Coach for 2014. Andrew will be assisted by Oscar Wanigasekera to help with bowling coaching.
