Rain brings blessings? It’s probably true off the cricket ground. Vienna Cricket Club faced UNCC in the last game of regular season. Going into the match both teams sat at top of the table with 23 points each. Having played 6 games and winning 5.
At first it didn’t look as if there was any chance for a cricket match. Dark skies, rain around the ground. But there were enough dry hours to get a T20 match through.
Quinton Norris won the toss and just as last week he elected to bat first. VCC kept a healthy run rate and ended up scoring 157 off their 20 overs and losing 7 wickets.
UNCC came into bat with some drizzle on the field. Losing 3 wickets within the powerplay didn’t make things easier. UN were all out for 111 after 19 overs.
With that Vienna Cricket Club finish regular season on top of the table and will face Sub-Continental Cricket Club Graz on sunday the 13th for a chance to be promoted to division 1 of the Austrian T20 league.
