About

Vienna Cricket Club (VCC) is the oldest and one of the most active cricket clubs in Austria and the reigning ACA Open League champion. The club was founded in 1975 by an English teacher together with his Austrian pupils. Since then the club has continued to grow – both on and off the pitch – gaining new members, establishing cricketing infrastructure and improving opportunities for playing cricket in and around Vienna. The club has a distinctly international flavour, with players from countries such as Austria, Germany, England, Australia, South Africa, India and New Zealand.

In 1995 the club obtained its own ground in the village of Seebarn to the north of Vienna, which has subsequently been developed to include a clubhouse, practice nets and storage facilities. Seebarn is now one of the best cricket grounds in central Europe and has been the venue for international tournaments (including the ECC Trophy in 1999 and 2001), as well as club and national team games against high quality touring teams (including the MCC in 1996 and 1998, and the Crusaders from Victoria, Australia in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2013).

VCC has won the domestic league title four times, having additionally won the cup competition once. The club caters for all standards of players and offers a wide range of playing possibilities from competitive games (40 over league and T20 competitions) and international tours to friendlies and inter-club matches. We also like to keep oursevles active off the cricket pitch, with special events held at the ground, as well as social events in Vienna.

We are always happy to welcome new members and look forward to hearing from you! For further information about the game and the club feel free to browse the rest of our website or send us an email at viennacricketclub@gmail.com.
